What does Grad der Behinderung mean?
The Grad der Behinderung (degree of disability), GdB for short, shows how much a disability limits your life. It is given in steps of ten.

The Versorgungsamt sets the GdB based on medical reports. Several impairments are assessed together, not simply added up.
From a GdB of 50, you count as severely disabled and get a Schwerbehindertenausweis.
A lower GdB can also have advantages, for example for tax.
If you think the GdB is too low, you can file a Widerspruch. The deadline is in the Rechtsbehelfsbelehrung.
