What does Integrationskurs mean?
An Integrationskurs (integration course) is a course in German and in knowledge about life in Germany. The BAMF organises it.
der Integrationskurs · die Integrationskurse (plural)
It consists of a language course and an orientation course. There are exams at the end.
Some people must take part, for example if the Ausländerbehörde or the Jobcenter obliges them to. Missing it without a reason can have consequences.
You often pay only part of the costs, or nothing. With a Berechtigungsschein (certificate of entitlement), you can register at a course provider.
Example sentence
Sie sind zur Teilnahme an einem Integrationskurs verpflichtet.
You are obliged to take part in an Integrationskurs.
What you can do
Keep the certificate for the course and the exam safe. You often need it later, for example for Einbürgerung.
