What does Pflegegrad mean?
The Pflegegrad (care level) shows how much help a person needs in daily life. There are care levels 1 to 5.

You apply for it at the Pflegekasse. Then an assessor comes and checks what you can still do yourself.
The higher the care level, the more benefits there are. Examples are Pflegegeld (care allowance) or help from a care service.
If you think the care level is too low, you can file a Widerspruch. The deadline is in the Rechtsbehelfsbelehrung.
If you need more care later, you can apply for a higher care level.
