What does Zählerstand mean?

Zählerstand (meter reading) is the number on the meter for electricity, gas, water or heating. It shows how much you have used.

The supplier usually asks for it once a year. You can read the meter yourself and send the number.

If you do not send a Zählerstand, your usage is estimated. Then the Jahresabrechnung can be too high or too low.
