What does Erstausstattung mean?

Erstausstattung (initial equipment) is one-off help for new things, such as furniture for a first home or baby things.

The Jobcenter or the Sozialamt pays it on top, often as a fixed amount.

It exists, for example, for a first home of your own, for pregnancy and birth, or after a fire.
