What does Nachweis mean?

A Nachweis is a document that proves something, for example your income, your rent or your address.

Offices ask for a Nachweis before deciding on an application. Typical ones are bank statements, payslips, the rental contract or a Bescheinigung.

The letter says which Nachweise the office needs and by when. Send exactly those.

If a Nachweis is missing, the office can refuse or stop the benefit. If you might not get it in time, tell the office beforehand.
