What does Führungszeugnis mean?

Führungszeugnis (certificate of good conduct) shows whether you have been convicted of a crime. Employers and offices sometimes ask for it.

You apply for it at the Bürgeramt or online with the online function of your ID. It costs a fee and usually arrives by post after one to two weeks.

For work with children and young people you need an extended Führungszeugnis. For this you need a written request from the employer or club.

Not every sentence appears in it. Small fines often do not appear if it was the first sentence.

If an office needs the Führungszeugnis, it can be sent there directly. Say so when you apply.
