A Gläubiger (creditor) is a person, company or office that you owe money to, or that claims you do.

It can be, for example, a landlord, a shop, a bank or an office. Sometimes a debt collection agency (Inkassobüro) sends letters for the Gläubiger.
Just because someone demands money does not mean you owe it. Check whether the claim is right.
