What does Kooperationsplan mean?

Kooperationsplan (cooperation plan) is a plan you write with the Jobcenter. It sets out your goals and the next steps towards work.

It is the basis for working with the Jobcenter. Since July 2023 it has replaced the Eingliederungsvereinbarung (integration agreement).

If no plan is agreed or you do not follow it, the Jobcenter can set your duties in a Bescheid. If it explains the consequences, the Jobcenter can reduce your benefit when you refuse without an important reason.

You can file a Widerspruch against such a Bescheid. The deadline is in the Rechtsbehelfsbelehrung.

What you can do

Say openly what you can and cannot do, for example because of children or illness. Take a copy of the plan with you.

  • Jobcenter The Jobcenter pays money to live on to people who can work but do not have enough money. It also helps with finding work.
  • Bürgergeld Bürgergeld (citizen's income) was the Jobcenter's money for people who can work but lack enough to live on. It had this name until June 2026.
  • Leistungsminderung A Leistungsminderung (benefit reduction) means the Jobcenter pays less for a time, because it says you broke a duty.
  • Mitwirkungspflicht If you apply for or receive social benefits, you have a Mitwirkungspflicht (duty to cooperate). You must help the office check your case.
  • Termin A Termin is a fixed day and time when you should come to an office, a court or a doctor.
  • Vermittlungsvorschlag A Vermittlungsvorschlag (job referral) is a job offer from the Jobcenter or the Agentur für Arbeit. You are usually expected to apply.
