What does Abmahnung mean?
With an Abmahnung (formal warning), your employer or landlord warns you. They say what you did wrong and threaten notice.

An Abmahnung is not a Mahnung about money. It is a warning that a behaviour must stop.
A warning often has to come before a Kündigung (notice). If a similar fault happens again, notice can follow.
If you think the warning is wrong, write a reply (Gegendarstellung). Get advice, for example from a trade union or a tenants' association.

Wir mahnen Sie hiermit wegen Ihres wiederholten unentschuldigten Fehlens ab.
We hereby formally warn you because of your repeated unexcused absence.

Only sign that you received the Abmahnung, not that it is correct. Keep it.
