What does Kontenklärung mean?
Kontenklärung (account clarification) is when the Rentenversicherung checks whether all periods are in your pension account. You add missing periods.

Important periods include, for example, school, training, raising children, illness and work abroad. These periods can count towards your pension.
Include proof, for example certificates, your children's Geburtsurkunden or proof of work. Copies are usually enough.
At the end you get a Bescheid with your periods. If something is wrong, you can lodge a Widerspruch.
