What does Duldung mean?

A Duldung (temporary suspension of deportation) is not a residence permit. It means you actually have to leave Germany, but deportation is suspended for now.

The Duldung is usually valid only for a short time. The Ausländerbehörde must extend it again and again.

With a Duldung, you may usually work only with permission from the Ausländerbehörde.

There are ways from a Duldung to an Aufenthaltstitel, for example through work or training. Get advice early.
